SCRIPTURE 2Th 2:7,11-12                                                                                                                                      April, 2008

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

SUBJECT - DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE!! [2]

Last month, we started looking at, a situation that defies common sense, and that is, why there are things that we see, that should not be believed.

The reason I say it defies common sense, is because, a person defying what they see, is considered to be foolish. Then I went in to examples of how con artists, magicians, and a few others use trickery to get you to act a certain way, based on the deceptions they present to you.

I then described the conditions which a doctor would say reveals that a person is delusional. Those factors are, They are 1. certainty (held with absolute conviction) 2. incorrigibility (not changeable by compelling counterargument or proof to the contrary) 3. impossibility or falsity of content (implausible, bizarre or patently untrue).

Looking at the definition of delusional, you can see, it is far more than seeing something, and then questioning whether what you saw, was what you really saw.

A delusional person is one who, believes something to be true, despite evidence to the contrary. They are caught in a maze of half truths, and outright lies, for which there is absolutely no evidence to substantiate what they want to believe.

It is like a dog chasing its tail, they just keep on going around in circles.

In our human society today, we have those that wish to take the view that man is the result of something other than a divine plan by a supernatural being known as God.

The reason for this, is varied, but it has its root from the very nature of man, which is one that is an enemy of God, namely sin.

The bible tells us, 'Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.' This means that all of us start out with a nature that's at war with God, and therefore does what ever it deems necessary to reject His very existence.

God, on the other hand, knows this trait is in us, and has extended His hand to us, through many means, but mostly through manifesting Himself in the Flesh, through Jesus Christ [John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.][John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.], so that we could see with our own eyes, that He is far more than just a figment of man's imagination.

Yet, despite this proof, there were then, and are today, those that absolutely refuse to accept the existence of God. And the reason they do this, are for purely selfish reasons.

They are involved in things that God says are wickedness, but they enjoy them. The bible tells us that there is pleasure in sin [Heb 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;]. Without a doubt, if there was no pleasure in sin, then, no one would be involved in it.

So God has given us the warnings of the dangers of sin, not only in this life, but after we leave this earthly life.

These warnings make those that enjoy sin, feel uneasy, and therefore they set about to not only deny His existence, but to offer theories, present examples, and even pass laws that they feel, will silence their critics, namely Christians.

Well, God is not going to just sit around and take this attack on Him, and His Children. He responds with something that seems out of character for a loving God. He sets them up for destruction, through a means that will leave them in a state of perpetual damnation, without any way of being saved.

How does He do this?? By furnishing them with just enough evidence to support their beliefs, so that they can, destroy themselves. You have undoubtedly heard the saying about giving a crook enough rope so that they hang themselves?? And, that is just what they are doing.

Anytime you as a Christian say, that man was created by God, they present scientific evidence that appears to suggest that man, evolved from monkeys. They present the line of evolution that has all the appearance of being true even though we have proof to the contrary, namely Jesus Christ.

That evidence is there, to keep them believing the lie that they have fabricated, so that they will be damned.

I hear scientists talking about how the earth is millions, or even billions of years old, and how it was formed, and how certain creatures[dinosaurs], roamed the earth, and how they lived and died. We have fossils of some of these creatures in the museums around the world that give evidence of their existence, and I wonder, if this is part of the delusional evidence that God created, to keep these people believing a lie.

After all, the subject scripture uses the words,'strong delusion.' What can be any stronger than fossils of dinosaurs, and other things like drawings, ancient relics, and such unearthed by those seeking anything to prove that God, isn't real. All of these could have been created by God for that purpose.

Now granted, the bible, in Genesis, does leave a time period, where dinosaurs could have existed, but, one needs to be very careful, when accepting the evidence that is presented by those that argue that there is no God.

If we look at our situation in the world today, with the poverty, homelessness, the wars, the famines, natural disasters, the downright debauchery that is paramount in this and other nations, we would have to ask ourselves, how can we straighten all of this mess out??

Well, from the standpoint of the Christian, the answer is quite simple. 'We can't.' And why is that?? Because only God can straighten it out, and He is not going to do that, until everything that He has said will happen, happens. Everything that is happening today, is part of God's plan, and no man can change it.

Even this so-called 'global warming' phenomenon, is part of the 'strong delusion.'

We are told by scientists how the earth is getting warmer, and if we don't do something, then our children, and other descendants will be destroyed. They are basing these claims on data showing the temperatures of the earth, going back, hundreds of years.

Now, let me ask you this. Hundreds of years ago, who was taking the temperature of the earth?? Who cared about it?? Did they have the type of equipment back then to measure temperatures??

We have been told that there was an ice age, millions of years ago. Well, if there was an ice age, then the world is definitely warming up, because the ice has disappeared, except in places like Antarctic, and other places like that.

One would have to ask if this warming up, is just the natural progression of what has been taking place for centuries.

If there is no God in the picture, then man is left with the notion that he, has to do something to fix this problem, which, in his round about way, further entraps him, because he is not accepting his own notion of evolutionary evidence of the earth warming up, from the ice age.

Remember, man is responsible for global warming, because of our use of fossil fuels, hydrocarbons, CO₂ [carbon dioxide]and other factors, according to these fools [Psa14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.] Yet, by their own evidence, man wasn't using these things millions of years ago, so how did the earth warm up to what it is today??

Maybe God is in control???

Have you noticed how the term 'global warming' is being replaced by the term 'climate change??' Do you know why that is?? It is because these fools [Psa14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.], are realizing that what is happening is not global warming, as much as it is, climates are moving to other locations.

Over the past few decades, areas that usually had warm temperatures, are experiencing colder temperatures. At the same time, areas with normally cold temperatures, are experiencing warmer temperatures.

Have you ever noticed how the 'global warming' crowd, sites as its proof, the melting of the giant glaciers in the Arctic regions?? But, have you also noticed how places like Florida, and California, are experiencing cold temperatures, where you can see fruits on trees, covered with ice??

It probably was God, who told me back in the 70's, before I got saved, to make the joke about, 'one day, the places like Florida, where people run to retire and escape the cold regions like here in Michigan, are going to find that the cold, has followed them down there, and that Michigan, is going to be like Florida.'

My point being, here I was, making an observation, that at the time, was made in jest, being brought to reality.

Which goes to show, just because some one with a degree behind their names, and millions of dollars of equipment to work with, presents you with evidence to prove what they are saying is right, doesn't mean you have to believe what you see. The evidence may be there because God has created it, to damn them.
