(A MESSAGE TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES)
SCRIPTURE - LEV 17:10
JANUARY, 2007
And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood;
I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
SUBJECT - A MESSAGE TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES (what you don't know, can kill you!!!)
In this country, we espouse religious freedom, meaning every one has the right, to believe what they want to believe, and practice it.
You have the absolute right to practice your beliefs, as long as they don't infringe on the rights of others.
That is what this nation was founded on, as stated in the very first amendment of the Constitution. It states,
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;......"
So, as you can see, I am aware of what is what.
Now, having said that, I would like to ask a question, and it is this. Can we agree, to disagree??
If your answer is yes, then good, and please read on. If, on the other hand, the answer is no, then, would you at least read this article a little further, and then, if you see I am saying something that totally offends you, then stop.
The whole idea of this message, is to try to get those of you that are part of the Jehovah's Witness community, to see that, in my sight, and I believe especially, in the sight of God, you are, partaking in an erroneous interpretation of scripture.
Now, as I mentioned earlier, you can believe what you want, and I am not trying to coerce you in to believing different.
However, if I am to be a true follower of Christ Jesus, then He tells me, to show love towards all men.
Well, how am I doing that, by addressing you, and telling you that you are in error??
Well, under normal circumstances, when you are doing something, that, according to what you believe, is not providing evidence that it will harm anyone, then, I wouldn't have much to say about it being in error.
However, if on the other hand, you are doing something, that is providing the evidence, that it is harming you, and others, then Christ would have me to at least, address you about the problem, if nothing else.
For example, I know you have heard about people that claim they are followers of Christ, that have the belief that any true believer should be able to handle poisonous snakes, and if bitten, will not die. [
Mark 16:18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;" However, in their zeal to prove it, many have died.
Now in order to prove my case about them, I have to use scripture to make my point. And, here it is,
"Mat 4:6-7 And(Satan) saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Here, Satan, the devil, was trying to get Jesus, to prove Himself, by in effect was, attempting suicide, so that, if God was His Father, then the angels would protect Him. The same holds true with these believers. They are attempting suicide just to prove that they are 'true believers.'
But, as I have said, many of them have died.
Some of them would look at Paul, when he was bitten by a poisonous snake, and didn't die, as their example.
Well, if you will read the story carefully,
(Acts 28:3-6), you will notice, that Paul, was totally unaware the viper was nearby, and therefore, he wasn't knowingly putting his life in danger.
So, you see, there is a big difference.
Well, in your case, you are doing much the same thing, in that you are tempting God, by refusing to protect your lives, based on a faulty interpretation of scripture.
Here is what the passage of scripture says, in its entirety, concerning eating blood.
Lev 17:10-14 And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
Now, given this passage of scripture, I would say, based on it alone, and maybe a few others, you have a legitimate point.
However, let's look at something that Jesus said about eating, which is what you call blood transfusions.
Mat 15:11, 17 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Here, Jesus is describing 2 things, that are relative, as it pertains to eating.
First, he says, nothing that a person eats, defiles them, but rather, what comes out of their mouth. Then, He says, that what goes in the mouth, goes through the belly, and comes out of the body, as waste.
This is the process of eating, as God sees it. Taking something in, by the mouth, only.
So then, is Jesus contradicting God?? Of Course not. The statutes that God gave under the dispensation of the Law, were for that time, and not now.
Here is another example.
Under the Law, in the old testament, God forbade the people from eating certain types of animals, while at the same time, telling them what they could eat. (LEV 11:4-24).
Then, Jesus makes the statements above, but it doesn't stop there.
In Acts, Peter has a vision, from God, and in it, he sees a blanket spread out, with all types of animals, presumably, those that God said the people could not eat. I say this, because God tells him to get up and eat of them, and Peter says, Acts 10:14-16 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Now, here is the point.
God, is telling Peter to eat. Eat the very things He said, were unclean for His people to eat, in Leviticus. Is God, playing games with Peter?? Is God tempting Him?? Of course not.
Look what God says, in the passage above, 'What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.' If God has cleansed something, then it is no longer unclean.
Look at something else God says. 1Tim 4:3-5 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it
be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
God is not changing His mind, but rather, He said, that there would be a time, when His laws would be replaced, and we would enter a time where His laws would be written, in our hearts.
Why do you think we no longer have to burn sacrifices, like they did in the old testament?? Christ paid the ultimate price, with His own Blood.
Now, getting back to you.
The blood, contains the life, of the flesh. If you eat, or rather drink the blood, through the mouth, it will essentially go through the belly, and then be cast out of the body, as waste, meaning it is good for nothing. In other words, taking it through the mouth, is what God is talking about.
However, when blood is used intravenously, it is not going to waste, it is being used for what God intended it to be used as, and that is for the life of the flesh.
Think about this.
God, who knows everything that will happen in the future, most certainly knew the problems that would arise, about blood transfusions. But, how could He say, 4000+ years ago, that having blood transfusions, would be OK??
Nobody back then, even knew anything about medical procedures, as far as transfusing blood. So, that would essentially be something, that through the knowledge [enlightenment] that God has given us, through the years, would prove, beneficial.
But, your stance on this enlightenment, is ill advised, by those that are themselves, blind to it, because they are blind to scripture.
Think about this, as I close.
Jesus, shed [gave] His blood for us, so that we could live. Giving one's life, to save another, is the highest deed, that man can do for another. In other words, they shed their blood, so that another can live. This, we look at as being worthy of high honor.
Now, the giving of one's blood, to save another's life, by way of transfusion, is no different. Remember, the blood is not going to waste, it stays in the body, to sustain its life.
During an age of enlightenment, to choose not to utilize those things that are from God, puts a person in peril, because you are refusing something that God has extended to you.
I have had several friends, that were Jehovah's Witnesses, that have died, or had children, or other relatives, die, because blood transfusions, were refused.
Do you really think that a God of Love, would put anyone in this type of peril, by making them prove their loyalty to Him, by putting us in the position of facing death, and choosing it, while at the same time, offering us the chance to extend our lives???
No one would serve a God like that.
But, the choice is yours.
