SCRIPTURE MAT. 23:24-25 MARCH, 2013 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. SUBJECT – THE GORILLA, AND THE MOUSE PLAY/DOWNLOAD [MP3] Picture this, if you will. You walk in to a house, and find it completely destroyed. Fixtures are torn from the walls. Furniture is smashed to smithereens, windows broken out, holes in the walls, and in one room, you hear a thunderous noise, but, you don't want to go in, so, you look through a keyhole, and see a gorilla, tearing the room up. Just about the time you decide to call for help, a mouse runs under your feet, and you run from the house, screaming in terror. What is odd about this tale, is the fact that, here you have a gorilla, which is capable of tearing a house and everything in it apart, and can, quite conceivably tear you apart limb from limb, but, you remain calm, until you see this mouse, which is just as terrified of you, as you are of it, and you lose it. Now, I know, this story, is quite a stretch of the imagination, and I don't think there are very many people, given the same set of circumstances, who would react like this, concerning a mouse. If confronted by the gorilla, I could see it. So, what is the point of this story?? It is the fact that, here you have two entities, one a gorilla, and the other a mouse, two ends of a spectrum. One with massive strength, while the other, is totally irrelevant. And which one gets the immediate attention?? The mouse, the one that is the least threatening. As I mentioned earlier, this story is entirely made up, but, its point, or the analogy, is anything but. Day after day, week after week, people go through life, essentially acting pretty much the same way this individual acted in the house. How so, you ask?? When we look at the condition of this nation, and compare it to what it used to be like, we can all come to the conclusion that this nation is in a shambles. We have gone from being the richest nation in the world, to being a nation that is in the most debt, to other countries. We have gone from being the most respected nation, to the most hated nation in the world. Crime, at one time was manageable, but now, it is out of control. And worse yet, the vast majority of it is being committed by our young people. People used to look at our justice system, and revered it. Today, it is a joke. Criminals pass through it, and come out, without so much as a slap on the wrist. Our government, is as dysfunctional as it can be. Politicians are so concerned about keeping their jobs, that they will sell out to whatever agenda, that will guarantee them another term. This nation used to proudly proclaim 'In God We Trust!!' Now, the mere mention of God, in schools, public buildings, and many other areas, is enough to get a person fired, or sued. What do all of these things have in common?? They are symptoms of a nation being torn asunder. It can be likened to a gorilla going through that house, tearing up everything in sight. If one were to sit back and observe the condition of this nation, they would be dismayed. If they looked at what this nation was, versus what it is not, they would say, we need help. People would come forward to propose plans and solutions that they figure would help turn things around, and people would get on board with it, and start the ball rolling. And things would start looking up, until someone points out that what is being proposed, has one problem, and that is, it offends somebody, or some group, and we have to respect their feelings. The whole idea of saving a nation, comes down to the fact that because someone feels disrespected, that the plan has to be altered, or scrapped. Why?? Because a mouse is in the house!!! Over the past few decades, I have seen perfectly good operations, plans and legislation, that would turn this nation around, be scrapped, because some individual, or group, gets up and cries foul, or threatens to sue, and people back down. Never mind the fact that every day we are going further and further in to destruction, we have to tread lightly, because of some insignificant nonsense. When I say insignificant nonsense, that is just what I mean. Look at some of these points. This nation legally kills 1.5 million babies every year, and has done so since 1972, meaning over 60 million babies have been slaughtered. Yet, when someone stands up and says they want to stop it, people stand up and say, we need to respect the rights of women. Fine, but, when these same women, start losing the children they have with them, to gun violence, we want to move heaven and earth to 'protect the children.' The facts are, the gorilla in the house, is God's wrath, on this nation because of those babies. We don't want to offend women, but, we don't mind offending God. Another area is our churches. Many of them have taken steps to accept, and install homosexuals in to the offices of ministry, in the church. Offices, that God says need to be occupied by those that are holy and righteous. They have even gone so far as to give God's blessing to unions between 2 men, and 2 women. Once again, the feelings of a few, are more important than God's wrath, the gorilla in the house. In these couple of examples, and there are many more, we seem to be more afraid of hurting someone's feelings, than what God's response to our decisions, will be. You wonder why I keep referring to God's wrath, as being the gorilla in the house?? It is because, only He has the ability to do to this nation, what is being done. No man, or group of men, can bring about all of this calamity. Only God, can do it. Look at this scripture. Eze 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: Notice God says 'When I bring the sword??' Friend, it is here, in the form of crime, loss of jobs, collapsing economy, disease, and every thing else, but, we are worried about offending people?? What about God!!??? You know, it is as if we have lost any respect or reverence we had for God, to the point that, the individual has become paramount. Either God goes along with our program, agenda or beliefs, or He can go to hell!! And the main problem for all of this, is, preachers. The very ones that, as the scripture above says, are supposed to be the watchmen. A watchman, in any scenario you want to put them in, is one that is responsible for the safety of some individual, group, business, or nation. He is supposed to be able to identify any threat, that may be present, and either eliminate it, or sound a warning, so that those that he is in charge of guarding, can either defend themselves against it, or take some other course of action, so that they can remain safe. What these preachers are doing, can be called, 'HIGH SPIRITUAL TREASON' because, rather than warning the people against the danger, they are actually siding with those that present the danger, all for the purpose of protecting themselves, let the people be damned. All across this nation, I see and hear the reports of how people are suffering, losing their jobs, their homes, their peace of mind, children, parents, relatives and friends, to all sorts of violence, accidents, diseases, and the like, and the very ones, that, supposedly have the answers, tell the people, that we need more man made laws and legislation, to turn things around. Notice, I said 'they supposedly, have the answers.' Just because a person has a title like Reverend, Minister, Evangelist, Bishop, Doctor, or some other title before their name, or degree after it, does not mean they are able to see, what only those that are Spiritually minded can see. It takes one who is Spiritually minded, to see what the real cause of our problems, are, and then warn the people, so that they can take the proper steps, to alleviate the threat. Any time I hear a preacher, in addressing the problems in this nation, say, that we need to get more laws, and legislation passed, as a first resort to solving a problem, I am listening to a spiritual illiterate. The first resort, is to seek God's input, before we do anything else. The second thing, is to heed His input. In other words, follow His advice. Jesus once said, Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Some time back, this nation, in addressing the growing numbers of our young people committing suicide, because of being bullied at school, and on the Internet, decided on promoting an anti bullying campaign. They call on everyone to stand up against bullies. I have no problem with that. There is no place in this society for those that pick on others, for whatever reason. However, there is a big Spiritual problem. Part of this campaign, addresses what has become known as 'hate speech!!' This term means, if you say anything derogatory about the way a person looks, acts, or dresses, you are using 'hate speech', and you need to shut up, be ignored, or sued. Well, in the case of the 'gay community', that can ultimately mean, any Christian, or preacher, speaking on biblical principles, when it comes to these people, by calling what they are doing, as being sin, will be labeled, as being a bully, or using hate speech. The problem rests with the notion, that a lot of those illiterates I mentioned earlier, have sold out to the idea promoted by scientists that, God, no less, made them the way they are, and therefore, to speak against them, is to speak against God. As a result, rather than them, gays, having to change their ways, the church is expected to change its ways, when it comes to addressing their sinful ways. We all know what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah, because of this same sin, and we see what is happening to this nation, but we don't want to connect the dots. We had better move quickly, because there is a gorilla [sword] moving through the land, tearing up everything in its path. We need to be more concerned about that, than the mouse of hurting someone's feelings, when their sin, is the issue, and cause of our problems. |
