THE TRUTH, IS OUT THERE!!!

Now that the election is over, we all have a choice to make. No matter which side you supported, it is time to come together, and not let differences, and hard feelings keep us from being what we all should be, and that is supportive of the man who was elected as the 43rd president of this great nation.

Many of you, I know, are bitter, and feeling cheated. You feel that your man, who did get the majority of the votes, should have won the election. However, if you will take a little time to look at what happened as being all part of God's perfect plan, then it will become quite evident, that there is someone calling the shots, and it is not a man, a group, a party, or anything else.

All of us, go through life and never stop to think about why things happen the way they do.

When things are going good, we just take them for granted, and get the idea that it is going good because of something that we, ourselves, or someone else has done.

Over the past 7 or so years, since Bill Clinton has been in office, we have seen things happen that would lend credence to the fact that He (Clinton), is the reason for the economy being the way it is.

We have record budget surpluses, record low unemployment, and things just seem to be on cruise control. We can sit back and relax and enjoy everything that the government has done for us.

That, in a way reminds me of a man in the bible, who had everything going the way he wanted them to go. He had a record crop, so much so, that when he harvested it, there wasn't enough room for him to store all that he had. So he decided to tear his old store houses down, and build bigger ones. Then he said to himself, ' I have enough to last me the rest of my life. I won't have to work anymore, I can kick back and relax, and enjoy the rest of my life.' [Lk 12:16-20]

This man figured he would just keep all that he had for himself, and enjoy it, for all of his later years. And, that wasn't a bad idea. After all, if you have a job, or are self employed, then you probably are working toward the goal of being able to one day, retire, and close up shop, and enjoy your last days.

You are saving up money to pay off all your bills, and to live on. And, hopefully, one day, you will experience that vision.

Getting back to our subject, the man had it all figured out, to a 'T.'

However, there was one thing, that he had overlooked in his 'game plan.' And that was the truth that was headed his way.

God came along and said, 'Thou fool, this night will your soul be required of thee, then whose shall all your things be???'

God was saying to him, just because you have all of these things, you have totally given praise to yourself, and what you have done, as if you are the one that woke yourself up everyday, and given yourself the strength to get out of bed, and have preserved the full use of your limbs, and the breath in your body, and staying in your right mind.

God was telling this man, that 'If it wasn't for Me, you wouldn't have anything. You wouldn't even be alive.'

What this man was doing, is, in much the same manner, the same thing that most of us do when things go good. We tend to take credit for it, or give that credit to someone else.

Most of you, really feel, that Clinton, is the reason for the good times we are having, and you feel that Al Gore, if elected, would continue to lead us in to more and more prosperity.

The Democrats, in so many words, have said that very thing. 'If it wasn't for us, this nation would not be enjoying what it is enjoying now.'

They want to take all the credit for it. They want to make us believe, that without them, we would have nothing.

Yet, in the midst of this, the truth of God's word, is ringing loud and unmistakable to all of us. That truth is, 'Without Him, we can do absolutely nothing.' [St. Jn 15:5]

He is the One who was responsible for the prosperity that we are enjoying. He is the One that allowed Clinton to get in office, and He is the One that has allowed George Bush, to get in to office. Why??? To let us know, that no matter how cunning we think we are, no matter how many tricks we use, no matter how many lies we tell, no matter what we do, if He wants to do something, or doesn't want something to happen, who is going to defy Him and win???

I hear people saying that Bush stole the election. They say the Republicans stole it. They say that the religious right, stole it. They blame everyone they can, because with all of their tricks and deceit, they couldn't win.

But, it is not the Republicans, Bush, the religious right, or anyone else who stole anything. The fact of the matter is, God set this thing up, so that He could show us, who really has control.

When I first became aware of what the unions did, by negotiating a paid holiday for their members for election day, and the black leaders with their 'Get out the vote.' campaign, I saw what they were trying to do, and God showed me, what He was going to do.

Many times in the bible, enemies outnumbered God's people, in battle, and it would seem clear, that by sheer numbers, they should have won the battle. but God gave the victory to the underdog.

Al Gore, got the most votes, but he still lost. God can turn victory, in to defeat, anytime He gets ready to. If God didn't, or doesn't want George Bush in the white house, then He won't be there.

However, right now, it seems like He didn't want Al Gore in there.

Whatever the reason, I have learned to accept it and go along with it. I certainly can't make Him change His mind, and He doesn't have to explain anything to me.

It's funny, that out of all the people that should know this, most preachers, seem to be totally ignorant to it.

I hear Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Wendall Anthony, Charles Adams, and many others, whoopin' and hollerin' about how Bush stole the election. They even say that the Supreme court, gave him the election. Maybe someone should tell them, that if anything, God gave Bush the victory, because he sure wouldn't be there if God didn't want him there.

What will happen in the coming days, as Bush gets his cabinet together, and prepares to take office, only God knows.

The word is, that several of his appointees, are headed for trouble getting approved by Democrats in congress. This is nothing but payback for their loss.

Imagine that. They are angry at the Republicans, and want to take it out on Bush's appointees, when God is the source of his victory.

Preachers and other groups are planning to go to Washington, to protest, I suppose, at Bush's inauguration.

To try to tell them that they are making fools out of themselves, won't do any good, because in their minds, God didn't have anything to do with it. Otherwise, why protest??

It is my hope that this nation can come together, but that will be hard, as long as we have people who don't want to face the truth. But, in any case, the truth will win out, in the end.
