AMERICA STRIKES BACK!!!
BUSH DECLARES WAR ON TERRORISTS, AND THOSE THAT SPONSOR THEM.

Right after the attacks on Sep. 11, President Bush announced that he was declaring war on terrorism, now that it had taken a huge toll on us. Thousands of lives lost, and thousands more affected by the loss of fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. Millions more affected by loss of jobs, financially, and in a lot of cases, inconvenience, and fear.

The skyline of New York, has been changed forever. This is something that the entire world is affected by. If it can happen here, it can happen everywhere. And because of this, the world was looking at George Bush, to see what he was going to do.

Well, they didn't have to wait long. Within hours of the attacks, he went on nationwide TV, and worldwide, to let all of us know, and especially the terrorists, that they had started something that this nation, along with the rest of the world, with him in the lead, was going to finish.

He said, he wasn't going to rush with a response, but was going to, in his own time, answer them, with something that they had no idea was coming.

For the previous 8 years or so, terrorists have operated almost with nothing more than lip service from us.

Attacks on two of our embassies [bombing]. An earlier attack on the trade centers[bombing]. An attack on the US Cole[bombing], and several other actions that warranted retaliation, but all we said was, 'We will track you down, and bring you to justice.'

A radio commentator said, about this, 'The previous administration, spent more money and manpower, breaking up Microsoft, and prosecuting Bill Gates, than it did, going after these terrorists, that had killed several hundred people, including about 100 of our people.' That shows where their priorities were.

They must have thought that this, 'wimp', that many in this nation thought George Bush was, was going to roll over and do the same thing, or even not that much, but, as Gomer Pyle used to say, 'Suprise, suprise!!!'

It seems that he is now celebrated by over 95% of this nation, Democrats, Republicans, Independents and others.

He has taken charge and is going about instilling confidence that was shaken by the attacks, and people are responding. His approval rating is about the highest of any president, since FDR, and that is because we were attacked on our own land, just like with FDR.

Bush, like his father, began building a coalition of nations, so that he would have less of a problem with foreign leaders, if he had to use their land, or needed help in tracking down these terrorists.

Seeing that the attackers, were of the Islamic faith, and were hiding in nations that were primarily Islamic, in belief, this was a major obstacle, in that he knew, without their help, it would appear as if the US was attacking Islamic believers. This was a smart move on his part.

Many in this faith, don't approve of what the terrorists did, but, at the same time, they are limiting the support for our forces as we track them down.

Another brilliant move, was to freeze the assets of suspected terrorist organizations, and, nations who support, or hide them.

Bush went on nationwide, and worldwide TV, and told everyone, 'You are either for us, or against us. There is no middle ground. Make no mistake about it, if you are the enemy, you will pay the price,!'

Then, he started putting all the parts together.

Then he began executing a plan that he said, was not going to be over, in a few weeks or months, but rather may last over a year, or even longer, and everyone agreed with him.

Ships, planes, and personnel, were put in to place, and after a few weeks of preparation, the war began.

It has been 4 weeks, since the attacks began, and as of right now, things are going pretty good, even though we are braced for the possibility of major injuries of our military when they go in to ground combat. Most of what is occurring now, is bombing from the air.

Bush had warned us that there was the possibility of retaliation, and that we should be prepared for it.

We didn't have to wait for long. Several days later, one of the employees at the offices of a tabloid magazine, was diagnosed with Anthrax. It was later discovered that he contracted it from a letter that had arrived at the office earlier that week. Several days later, he died.

Similarly, another letter, arrived at the offices of Sen. Tom Daschle, also laced with Anthrax.

The implications are, the retaliatory attack, had begun.

Further spreading the fear, is the fact that, thousands of people are now being tested to see if they have been exposed to this Anthrax.

This whole thing, with the Anthrax, has now brought about another problem. People are in a state of panic, so much so, that they are seeing things like sugar, and flour, and other powdery substances, and thinking it was Anthrax. The result of this is that they would call to report suspicious powder and that would result, in specially trained personnel coming out to investigate the substance. This results in thousands of dollars of expense, each and every time.

The problem has become so wide spread, that millions of dollars are being spent on fear, and hoaxes.

It is still a mystery as to whether this is the result of terrorists tied to the 9/11 attack, or others, who are taking advantage of the situation, to further scare us.

All of this brings about some big questions, and that is, where can we find peace of mind?? When will it end?? Fear, and the results of it, are taking its toll on this nation.

But, in the midst of it, there is a light of hope, and that is many of people are realizing that the assurance that they need, can't come from things, but from God.

Remember Him??

He's the One that made everything possible for us to enjoy the lifestyles that we had. He's the One that blessed us to live in this nation?? He's the One that allowed us to be the richest, most prosperous, and most powerful nation on the earth, both past and present. He's also the One that we chose to reject and put in the closet, like some old toys that no longer had any use.

God, had warned us about what would befall any one, or any nation, that defied Him, and this is what we get. Yet, in the midst, of all of this, His Arm is still extended toward us, but only for a time.

The bible says we should 'Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while He is near:' [Isa 55:6].

We have treated God, like that spare tire that we have in the trunk of the car, we never think about it, until one of the four, goes flat, then it becomes our primary focus. Well, one of this nation's tires has gone flat, and now, our focus is on God. Everywhere you see signs acknowledging Him. On some TV stations, someone is saying the pledge of allegiance, and including a phrase that had been removed, and that is, 'one nation, under God.'

Many look at what has happened to us, as just the work of evil men, and that is not really the whole truth. It is the work of men, inspired by the devil, that God allowed to accomplish their evil, because of our sin, and refusal to repent.

Hopefully, many, will take this time of reflection, seriously, and make a permanent change in their lives, and in the things, and politicians they support. they support

If we can do this, then God will heal our land [2 Chron 7:14]
