SUBJECT - WHERE ARE THE SPIRITUAL LEADERS???
This month’ subject, is, without a doubt, one that will not sit well with a lot of people, especially Christians.
Yet, it is one that is needed in this day and time, for without the proper leadership in the lives of Christians, they will, undoubtedly end up suffering far more than they should, in this life, and could possibly end up, in hell. I know people don’ like to hear something like this, but, this ministry is not about just telling people what they want to hear.
If you read the letterhead of this ministry, you will see the foundation on which this ministry is built, and that is, the Word of God. And as such, it is not always going to be pleasant to hear or read. But rather, it is something that will hopefully make you aware of your own, as well as my, shortcomings, when it comes to how God sees us. As an Evangelist, I have a duty to fulfill the calling that God has given this imperfect vessel, to say what He wants me to say, no matter who likes it, or not. 2Tim 4:2-5 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Some will say I am acting like I think, I am better than anyone else, or that I am being judgmental, but, that is fine with me. Because it let’ me know, that I am doing my job, not as a judge, but as the mouthpiece of ‘he Judge.’‘he Judge
’tells me what to say, and I have no recourse but to obey. So, what you read in the rest of this message, as well as the other messages you read from this ministry, is only, my relaying to you, what God has to say about the things that are going on in this nation, but especially in the Church. For, it is the Church, that is supposed to be setting the example of what can be obtained, through strict obedience to Christ.
Look at the two subject verses.
The first one, admonishes us to ‘alk after [in] the Spirit.
Why?? So that we, won’ fall prey to the needs and desires of the flesh.
Now, here is the first eye opening point. In order for us to walk after[in] the Spirit, we have to be led, or directed by, the Spirit. Wouldn’ you agree?? But, how can we possibly be led by something Spiritual, when we are flesh and blood?? After all, that is our nature. We have grown
up, making all of our decisions, based on the environment that we live in, [i.e. the physical realm]. We are geared to act and think physical. That’ just the way we are.
News flash!!!! That might be the way we are, now, but, that is not the way we were created.
The bible tells us, we were made in the image of God [Gen. 1:26-27]
. And since God is a Spirit [St. John 4:24]
, that means, we were created as spirit beings. Our physical bodies, are only the house, in which we reside.
The problem is, ever since the fall of man, [Adam], we have steadily lost track of our spiritual nature, and adopted the nature of the house that we live in [the flesh]. Every thing we do, is aimed at one thing, and that is pleasing our flesh. And what’ worse, we have totally abandoned, and forgotten, who created us, and have actually gone to war, against Him. How?? By fighting against any thing, that seems to be going against our flesh.
It is one thing for those that are not saved, to have this mindset, but, it is a disaster for those that name the name of Christ [Christians], to hold that same type of mentality. Because as Children of God, our first allegiance is not to our flesh, but Jesus Christ.
We, along with the unsaved, have taken the position, that, if it makes us feel bad, then it can’ be God, because He wouldn’ hold that position. God wouldn’ condemn abortion, homosexuality, separation of church and state, affirmative action, and all of the other idiosyncrasies, that we come up with, to make ourselves feel good, so we can feel like we are ‘n to something’
, and that there is nothing wrong with it.
Since everything that exists, comes from the Spiritual realm[the Kingdom of God], then it is only natural, that we need to learn how things in that realm, affect our lives.
The ones that are in charge of doing that, are preachers. They hold the key that opens the door, to the blessings that God has for all of us. Jesus said, Mat 16:18-19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
As the scriptures say, all blessing, and cursing, all victory, and defeat, is tied in to how we operate, in relation to what happens in the Spiritual realm.
Quite simply put, you can't expect to prosper, and have victory, in your lives, if you don't have the keys [Spiritual knowledge], to operate in the ways that are pleasing to God. that will give you that victory..
Now, the problem is, this.
The preachers, that the black community chooses to listen to, should be telling them, that the problem with our community being in the position it is in, is not because of George Bush, the Republicans, or the white man. Our problem is, we need to get right with God.
But, that is not what we are being told.
If you listen to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Wendall Anthony, Charles Adams, and the rest of those preachers, that the black community, has anointed as its leaders, what you will hear, is the politically correct version of the 'gospel of humanism.'
To their credit, these preachers, are good black leaders, civil rights leaders, and political leaders. However, that is not going to get us anywhere, when our spiritual condition is a total mess.
The fact that these men, have the title of Reverend in front of their names, is deceiving. They may present themselves as men of God, and have all the paperwork, and credentials, but that means nothing.
No wonder we rank #1, when it comes to being unemployed. No wonder we rank#1, in illiteracy. No wonder that we are 15% of the population of this nation, but represent nearly 50% of all AIDS cases, twice the national average of infant mortality, nearly 50% of the prison population. Detroit, America's first black city, is the poorest major city in the nation. Our state is losing jobs at twice the national average, and the list goes on and on. If it is bad, we are at the top of the list. If it is good, we are at the bottom.
Friends, what is happening is a curse!
These preachers, [give me a break] stand up and call it racism, the fault of Bush, and Reagan, and the Republicans. They even want to blame preachers like myself, that give clear warning, that we need to get back to the principles this nation was built on, its Christian foundation, which is the reason this nation had prospered the way it has, as being fear mongers.
Lunacy!!! Sheer lunacy.
The bible says, Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
They want to ignore, the warnings, that the bible clearly gives us, as if they don't exist. As if God doesn’ exist.
Time and again, the bible makes it absolutely clear, what happens to those that defy God, and ignore His direction. Let me give you a little part of what it says.
Prv 1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
Prv 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
Prv 1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Prv 1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they
shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
Prv 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Prv 1:30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Prv 1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
Prv 1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
Does this sound like fear mongering?? No!!! It is the Truth. Something these preachers evidently don't believe.
The gospel of humanism,
says that man, is in total control of his destiny. There is no recognition of any divine influence on anything that we do. It is a complete denial of God. Therefore, when things go good, it is because man did it. Consequently, when things go bad, once again, man is responsible. Therefore, when things go wrong for the black community, it can’ be because of wrongdoing by the black community, it has to be someone outside of the community. And since the black community, has also anointed the Democratic party, as its saviour, then the only explanation is, the Republicans, George Bush, the ‘eligious right’ and racism.
There is no way, given the statistics I just quoted above, that this is the result of man, but rather God’ curse on the black community, for its own actions.
Every thing that happens, happens because of the divine plan that God has set, and it can’ be changed.
When looking at these occurances, the way God sees them, you would have a totally different outlook on the problems that we are facing today. And, with that outlook, you can pursue the correct paths, to be the overcomer God intends for those that put their trust in Him, to be.
That’ right!! God doesn’ want anyone to suffer any more than what is common among all mankind. And He wants all of us to be victorious, and prosper, in the midst of those problems. But, as I mentioned, it takes spiritual insight, to navigate through the storm. It takes a connection to God, to get through it.
Unfortunately, those that are supposed to be equipping their followers to deal with these problems, are only able to tell them to ‘old on!! Keep hope alive!!! What they are saying, is that you have to ride the storm out, and that clearer days are ahead. No direction. No taking control of the situation, and turning it around.
We don’ need leaders to tell us to hold on, and ride it out. That’ what comes naturally. That is something that you can hear from psychiatrists, and psychologists. Anybody can hold on. It’ taking control that makes the difference. Spiritual control. And for that, you need to engage in spiritual warfare.
Let me remind you about this scripture, Eph 6:10-12 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
More on this subject, next month.
