SCRIPTURE - 1COR 1:27                                                      OCTOBER, 2006

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the
world to confound the things which are mighty;

SUBJECT - STUPID IS, AS STUPID DOES

When I look at this scripture, and consider the climate that we are living in, today, I see, a distinct parallel with what this scripture is saying.

Today, in this nation, and especially here in Michigan, I am seeing, and hearing things, that show me, God is moving, through this state, and the nation, through, what seems to be totally foolish means, to bring us, in to a position for Him to bless us, more than He has been, in these last days.

First, for those of you that don't know what I am talking about, when I say, 'last days', look at these scriptures, 2Tim 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

What this passage is telling us, is, there is a time, designated by God, where things will begin to happen, with such a rate of occurrence, that many would surmise, 'all hell, is breaking loose!'

Now, why would God, in all of His Love, and Mercy, allow all of this to take place?? As I have heard many preachers state, and I do agree, 'God, is Able!!'

It is because, through history, talking about, going back to the beginning, of creation, as recorded in the bible, we see, that man, through his own ways and means, always strays away from God, and He, God, in order to bring us back to Him, allows things to happen to us, that will prove, that what we thought was our superior truth, and intellect, is nothing but a vain attempt, to make ourselves, equal with God.

I say this, because, if, when presented with biblical truth, they will laugh and say, 'That is the dumbest thing I ever heard!! What are you, some type of fool??'

This is essentially saying that, 'man knows best, and what is being quoted as [God's] Truth, is foolish.'

If asked to explain why they say this, they will say, 'Because God, isn't like that. He wouldn't do [allow] all of these things to happen, because that would only drive people away from Him. It is love, that will draw people to Him.'

And, herein, lies the problem. We have a totally distorted view of God, and His Love. And because of this distorted view, we are getting further and further away from His grace, and mercy.

How?? Because we put our wisdom, above His wisdom. And He will not allow that to stand. And, He will, tear it down, 'by any means necessary [bamn].

If, as many surmise, God, followed our way of thinking, He would be empowering us to continue to violate His principles, further damning ourselves. Because it is usually after hard times come, or, a disaster, that we run to Him, for comfort. This is the same mentality, that the children of Israel, went through, time and again, in the past.

This is an established Truth. His Truth.

Remember, the bible says, 'There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. [Prv 14:12, 16:25]

Just because something is doing some good, does not mean God approves of it. In fact, It could be doing monumental good, but, the problem is, if it is not in line with God's Word, it is going to cause disaster, somewhere down the road. Count on it.

The same thing goes for politicians that we elect, to be our lawmakers, and leaders.

If these individuals, support things, and would make laws, that will reap the benefits that the people desire that voted for them, want, then the people, will be judged, along the same guidelines, and God judges everyone that is pro, or con, to His principles.

So, God has a vested interest in our way of life, and He deals with us, the same way He has, with everyone else, in the past.

So how did we, in this day and time, get to the position of feeling that we know better than what the bible says??

One answer. Preachers.

It is the job of the preacher, to relay the message of God, to the people, so that they can make a well informed decision, on every issue that we face, so that we can have God's blessing on it, and prosper, the way God wants us to prosper.

But, in over 90% of the churches in this nation, that are, what is called, 'the black church', [another vision that is born of man's intellect], preachers, are not presenting the Truth, of the Word of God, they are presenting, the truth of man's mentality.

You see, we are told, 'reality [experience] is the best teacher.' And, that is true. However, if you ignore the reality of the Truth, of the Word of God, which shows us the experience of those in the past, as recorded in the bible, then we are ignoring another great truth, and that is, 'those that don't learn from the mistakes of the past [history], are doomed to repeat them.

So, what about these preachers??

Well they are of the breed, that Jesus faced, while He was on this earth. Time and again, everything that Jesus said, they tried to find fault with. Everything He did, they had a problem with. Even when He healed the sick, or fed people on the Sabbath, they said He was breaking the law. The law of God.

Now, if anyone knew the law of God, it was Him, because He is God, in the flesh. These people found fault with Him, because of one reason, and that is, He challenged their power, over the people.

Their power was predicated on their knowledge, and wisdom.

Today, it is no different. These preachers, attain their power, because it is bestowed on them, by the community they serve, because they make it appear that they know what God says, and what He means, and the solutions that they come up with, are totally within His purpose.

But, they aren't.

So, how do these preachers get like this?? Don't they know what the bible says??

Well, consider this.

Depending on the institution that they graduated from, or the pastor they sat under, or the denomination they are affiliated with, they may have the accolades, approval, and degrees from them, but that does not mean they are right with God.

This is much the same way it is between public, and Christian schools, concerning the origins of man. A child, facing a test, of one question, that will determine if he will graduate from school is asked, 'Where did man come from?' In the public schools, where the 'theory of evolution'[notice, it is only a theory, not a fact, even though it is taught, as if it is a fact] is taught, he will answer, 'from monkeys.' That answer would allow him to graduate. If a child with Christian education was asked the same question, he would say, 'God created man, from the dust of the earth, and breathed in to him the breath of life, and he became a living soul.' That answer, would cause him to fail.

The same could be true if the situations were reversed. So, just because a person has degrees behind their names, or is popular in a community, does not mean they are in line with God, by any means. By the same token, just because a person, does not have a degree, or is not well known, or is even reviled by the community, does not mean that they are out of touch with God.

So, how do you decide?? You ask both why do they say and believe what they promote?? And usually the one that relies totally on what the bible says, and gives the total view of the situation, as God sees it, is the one that is telling the truth.

But, we don't have that, in most of our community, we have those, that may disagree with the common wisdom of the black community, and these preachers, like myself, and we are called idiots, and fools. But, are we?? Well, if you look at the history of people like myself, we are in good company, because if you look at Jesus, and all of the apostles, we are in the minority, and yet we bear witness to the truth of God's Word. John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

So you see, the accolades of man, mean nothing to those that walk the way God says they should. Not so, with many of these preachers. They thrive on recognition. They get up in their pulpits, and do an academy award winning performance. They rhyme, sweat, dance, speak in different languages, showing their education, say snappy phrases, and other things, usually to the sounds of the hammond organ, and to the approval of their congregation. But, the only thing they are doing is, what that old record used to say, 'Talking Loud, and Saying Nothing.'

Therefore, those that listen to them, are just as misguided as they are. And this ignorance to the Truth, spells disaster to those that hold to their views. Because when the Truth, is presented to them, they reject it as foolishness. And, make no mistake about it, once you have heard the Truth, and reject it, God knows it, and you will suffer the more for it, than those that have never heard it. Luke 12:47-48 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

That's right, God discriminates punishment based on what a person has been exposed to. But notice, both will suffer, but one will suffer, more. The suffering that the one who knew what was right, and did it, would suffer persecution and such, versus suffering God's wrath.

In Mighigan, 'affirmative action' is touted as the saviour of women, and minorities, which, if you look at what it has done for them, it is something that people think is good, and even God sent. But, if it violates God's principles, then, it is not sent, or endorsed, by God. Therefore, when this point is made, people get in an uproar, specifically, when preachers, denounce it. So, what is the end result?? The people will suffer all the more, for it.

God's Love, is such, that He will send His people to warn others about the danger they are facing.

Another thing about it, to show how far wrong, it has gone.

People will get more upset about someone speaking against it, than they would if you spoke negatively about Jesus Christ, or God, and that includes many Christians.

It is my firm belief, that God is setting the stage to tear this thing down, and those that are preachers, building so-called walls around it (i.e Nehemiah), are doing a disservice, to all that listen to them. Because they are encouraging their people to fight against God. Acts 5:38-39 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Fighting against God, is stupidity at its worst, but, as the title says, 'Stupid Is, As Stupid Does.' Stupid people, do stupid things. Which one, are you???
